Dr. Dietitian Ayşe Okan graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2008. She earned her Master’s degree in Medical Nutrition Therapy from Near East University in 2010. Later, she completed her PhD at London Metropolitan University, UK, focusing on the adherence of breast cancer patients to the Mediterranean Diet and the effects of olive oil on the apoptosis rate of breast cancer cells.She has actively participated in numerous national and international congresses, continuously enhancing her expertise in the field of nutrition, nutrigenetics, and epigenetics. Between 2019 and 2022, she served as the President of KTDB, and from 2020 to 2023, she was the Acting Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the International Cyprus University, Faculty of Health Sciences.Since completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Okan has worked as an academic dietitian in various universities, contributing to both research and education. She is also a member and educator of the Turkish Epigenetic Nutrigenetic Counseling Association. With her deep expertise in genetics and nutrition, she has delivered numerous seminars and lectures and has been invited as a speaker at various congresses.Her research interests include personalized nutrition, the relationship between genetics and diet, and the role of epigenetics in disease prevention and management. Dr. Okan continues to contribute to the field through her academic work, counseling, and educational programs.
