Prof. Dr. Ercan Kahya is an academic and researcher specializing in Hydrology, Water Resources, Coastal Sciences and Engineering, and Hydroclimatology. He is the Rector of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Northern Cyprus Campus (KKTC). He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and has been actively involved in various national and international scientific organizations. His expertise spans hydrological and climatic systems, water resource management, and coastal engineering, contributing to advancements in sustainable environmental strategies.Throughout his career, Prof. Dr. Ercan Kahya has held multiple leadership roles in professional associations, demonstrating his commitment to scientific research and international collaboration. He served as the Vice President of the Nutrigenetics and Epigenetics Association (2020-2024) and was a member of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (UK) (2009-2010). Additionally, he contributed to global business and environmental initiatives as a member of the Turkish Business Council in Dubai (2004-2005) and worked as a consultant for the Turkish Association of Preventing Traffic Accidents (1999-2001). His involvement in global geophysical research is further highlighted by his membership in the American Geophysical Union (AGU, USA) (1992-1993). Prof. Dr. Kahya continues to play a pivotal role in hydrological research and climate science, emphasizing the importance of sustainable water resource management and environmental resilience in his academic and administrative endeavors.
