Prof. Dr. İlhan Yaylım graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biological Sciences in 1991. He then completed his Master’s degree in Immunology at the Institute of Experimental Medicine, Istanbul University, Health Sciences Institute in 1995, followed by a PhD in Molecular Medicine at the same institute in 2000. In 2003, he earned the title of Associate Professor in Medical Biochemistry, continuing his academic career at Istanbul University, Aziz Sancar Institute of Experimental Medicine, Department of Molecular Medicine. Since 2010, he has been serving as a Professor at the same institution.Prof. Dr. Yaylım has a strong research background in cancer studies, genetic variations, gene expression, tumor microenvironment research, and biomarker discovery. He has authored over 200 national and international publications and book chapters, with more than 1000 citations in Web of Science (WOS). His extensive contributions to molecular medicine include editorial and peer-review roles in various national and international scientific journals. Additionally, he is a founding member of the Turkish Molecular Association and has been serving as the Head of the Department of Molecular Medicine since 2009. His research continues to advance molecular oncology and precision medicine, providing significant insights into disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
