Prof. Dr. İkbal Agah İnce is a distinguished virologist and systems biologist specializing in virus-host interactions, artificial intelligence-driven biomedical research, personalized medicine, metabolic diseases, and epigenetics. His expertise spans a wide range of disciplines, integrating molecular virology, biochemistry, and microbial pathogenesis to advance the understanding of infectious diseases and therapeutic strategies. He earned his first Ph.D. in 2007 at Karadeniz Technical University, focusing on “The Functional Analysis of a Potential Inhibitor Apoptosis Gene Encoded by an Iridovirus Model.” Continuing his academic journey, he completed his second Ph.D. in 2012, with a dissertation on “Functional Genomics of Chilo Iridescent Virus: A Transcriptoproteomic Approach.” His research has significantly contributed to the field of virology, unveiling novel mechanisms in virus-host dynamics. Prof. Dr. İnce has conducted pioneering research in microbial pathogenesis, invertebrate pathology, and systems-level modeling of viral infections. His work at University Medical Center Groningen further expanded his expertise in computational biology and AI-driven virology, integrating machine learning approaches to predict viral behavior and host responses. He is an active member of several prestigious scientific societies, including the General Microbiology Society, Invertebrate Pathology Society, and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies. His contributions to the field have been widely recognized, and he continues to play a pivotal role in bridging molecular virology with computational and personalized medicine.
