Professor Ayşe Akman, MD: Biography
I was born in 1974 in Balıkesir. I graduated from Eskişehir Atatürk High School in 1991 and Eskişehir Osmangazi University in 1997. In 2002, I completed my Specialization Education at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine. While I was a Research Assistant in 2001, I studied and worked in the field of Immunodermatology at New York University. I started to work as a Specialist at Akdeniz University in 2004. I became an Associate Professor in 2009 and I was appointed as a Professor in 2014.
I have experience, studies, publications and consultancy duties in the fields of Dermoscopic diagnosis and follow-up of Autoimmune Bulle Diseases, Oral Health, Behçet's Disease, Cutaneous Leishmaniasis, Psoriasis, Melanoma and non-Melanoma Skin Cancers, Skin and Venereal Diseases such as Acne, Nail Diseases, Hair Diseases, Dermatological Surgery, Aesthetic and Cosmetic applications, especially Pemphigus. In recent years, I have fulfilled the responsibility and opening duty of Akdeniz University Skin and Venereal Diseases Cosmetology Unit. In the organization of the "Cosmetology Course at the National Dermatology Congress", I led the organization of the meetings of "Filling, Botox and Thread applications in Fresh Cadaver in the field of aesthetics" and "Pathology of Nail Diseases and Surgical Applications on Fresh Cadaver" meetings. I worked as a member, secretary and chairman in the field of Medical Education at Akdeniz University and Turkish Society of Dermatology.
In 2021, I was elected as the Head of the Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases at Akdeniz University. In 2022, I transferred my experiences in the field of Cosmetology to my patients, students and consultancy duties in Nişantaşı in Istanbul in 2022, and I continue to work at Akdeniz University since 2023. I am interested in Dermatosurgery instrument and device, cosmetic product development, Photobiostimulation, PRF, Biofiller, Exosome, Medical Aesthetics accompanied by Ultrasound, Epigenetic Coaching and Level 7 Aesthetic Procedures trainer in the UK.
I also share a happy life with my son and our dog.
