After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University in 2001, Dr. Özkan Günes worked in various private clinics in Istanbul before moving to Germany at the end of 2002. From 2003 to 2004, he worked as a resident physician in the departments of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Neuradiology in Bielefeld. From 2004 to 2007, Dr. Günes worked as an assistant physician in neurology at the St. Franziskus Hospital in Ahlen, followed by a year in the psychiatry department of the LWL Clinic in Gütersloh. He continued his career at the same clinic as a neurology resident from 2008 to 2010, obtained his board certification in neurology in 2010, and then worked as an assistant medical director at St. Elisabeth Hospital in Damme. From 2011 to 2012, Dr. Günes held the position of Assistant Medical Director at the Sorpesee Neurology Clinic, and from 2012 to 2014, he completed his subspecialty training at the Marcus Clinic Bad Driburg. He returned to the Sorpesee Neurology Clinic from 2014 to 2018 and continued in the role of Assistant Medical Director. After completing his subspecialty in rehabilitation at BDH Clinic Valendar from 2018 to 2019, Dr. Günes returned to the Sorpesee Neurology Clinic in February 2019 and was appointed medical director in 2022. In addition, he obtained the DGKN-EMG certification in 2021 and the EMG trainer certification in 2024, further enhancing his expertise in the field.
